Letters: Scribed & Sung | Letter Scenes from Italian, French, German and Russian opera.

Principal artist Louise Keast, soprano, will be joined by associate artists Naomi Flatman, mezzo-soprano, Asher Reichman, tenor, and Ella Luhtasaari, piano, to present an enthralling recital of letter scenes and arias from opera. The universal experience of writing or receiving a letter has been the subject of composition by beloved composers Mozart and Verdi to more obscure repertoire by Otto Nicolai and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Audiences will be captivated by the drama and intimacy of this semi-staged performance.

This concert features accomplished artists from across Australia. Former Canberra resident Louise Keast now lives in South-West Victoria and has developed a professional practice that encompasses performance, curation, production and direction. Naomi Flatman is a graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University and current studio artist with Gertrude Opera Studio in Melbourne. Charismatic tenor Asher Reichman resides in Melbourne and this will be his first performance in Canberra. Pianist Ella Luhtasaari is well known to Canberra audiences and is an experienced pianist, repetiteur, accompanist and teacher.
